Switched to #Octopus Tracker today from #Agile. Whilst the plunge pricing was fun, we could never shift our cooking from the 4-7pm peak so all the benefits of cheap/negative unit pricing was obliterated by the evening peak.
It will be interesting to see how the average unit price settles for us over the next few months. Over the last 60 days on Agile, our average unit price was 19.06p/kWh. ⚡️
Updates to follow!

New Blog Sunday
New blog Sunday!
After losing access to Foresty CMS, I fell out of love with Jekyll. Whilst I love that it cost me £0, it was a nightmare to actually post anything. So I didn’t.
I’ve migrated things to Micro.blog now, hoping that I might post a bit more! Sorry, not sorry.
I’ve been so busy in 2023 that we’ve not stopped to appreciate all the things we’ve done. Time is flying, and it would be nice to write down some of the fun things we’ve done.

2023
Looking forward to 2023, these are the key habits I want to instill in my day to day life:
Listening to more audio content (audio books, podcasts, and music) Walking more (probably whilst listening to audio content) Less time unconsciously ‘consuming’ I posted on Mastodon recently that my theme for 2023 is ‘Distraction Free’, and these habits should help me achieve this.
Listening to more audio content is key.

2020 Wrap Up
2020 has been a strange year. Here is how I spent some of it:
Games I played 66 games for longer than half an hour in 2020 and played at least a few seconds of 109 games in total. Out of my top 9 games, only 2 were released in 2020.
Of my top 66 games, I played each for an average of 6h12m (drastically dragged higher by animal crossing)

2019 Goals
Here are my goals for 2019. Most of these involve self improvement of some sort, and crucially don’t involve simply cutting things out, or a fixed number of things to do a week or whatever.. Each year I’ve said ‘exercise 3 times a week’, ‘no energy drinks’…. Well that doesn’t end up happening.
2018 was a great year, and 2019 will be even better!

Executive Order Ban the Beer - First Month Goals Update
Over a month has passed since my last post, and in that time I have been (slowly) working towards those goals I mentioned.
I didn’t go to the gym that much, but I have been doing exercises at home (and on the road) with the help of my girlfriend who does 30-60 minutes a day in our flat. I even have resistance bands, and a roller!
I have almost completely stopped drinking beer.

A little behind on the blogs!
So I’ve been a lazy blogger recently. I should fix that. Probably
London/Leeds Trip Berlin Christmas 2016 (Ok, not so lazy I write this at a McDonalds in Berlin.) Flavourly Thoughts. How my backlog is going / went in 2016. Plans for 2017/Tough Mudder

Betws-Y-Coed Miniature Railway Trip
At Betws-Y-Coed station, there is a railway museum and miniature railway. The museum entry fee was £1.50, and so were tickets on the miniature railway. Having nearly run out of pennies, we decided to hop on the miniature railway, as you do. We even got cute little tickets which the driver checked…

Only when the train started and a family with young children walked onto the platform did we realise that this probably looked a bit strange: Two 24 year old guys, and a 19 year old girl sat in the tiny carriages.

Busy busy busy!
So, I managed to avoid blogging at all in September (and half of October!). It’s been fairly hectic recently, work filled up my spare time in September and now I’m back at uni full time too!
I’ve been working towards completing some games, and contemplating the future of my various projects including Tupcast. Currently, you might of noticed that Tupcast is in hibernation. We don’t have time to record between us, let along write up simple blog posts.

Early Christmas Presents
Since my girlfriend and I won’t be spending Christmas together (homes being half way across the country has a way of doing this) we decided to swap gifts this weekend before she left on the Monday. Sure it means we’ll have less to open on Christmas Day… but we got to open our presents together. Here’s some (not very Christmassy) photos…
A Dr Who Shirt from Teefury! She saw this on the site a month or so ago and really wanted it… Aren’t I such a nice boyfriend?

Been lazy lately, but some good news too!
I’ve slacked off the last week or so since I broke (and have now fixed) my bike, and now that the weather is awesome (and I have the day off work!) now is a great time to get back on the bike (and do some other exercises too).
In other news, I passed my HND with a Merit grade which means I got what I needed to get into the second year at Bangor!

Biking, biking, biking!
+Laurence Andrews already posted about our latest biking escapade. I’ve made a point to go more days this week than last, and so far I’ve equalled my current stats.
Tonight’s ride was pretty cool, around 6.6 miles. It was starting to rain, but wasn’t that bad really since it was fairly light. I had my new waterproof bike jacket and glasses I got from Aldi’s for less than a tenner so to be honest I was pretty comfortable.

Day 5 of reduced caffeine
So nearly a week has passed with energy drinks! I did have Lucozade Cola at lunch today which apparently contained 0.012% caffeine or some small amount but I’m not going to count that. I didn’t have a red bull or monster, relentless or rockstar! Pretty proud of myself! I’m actually pretty tired now which is nice, time to go read a book (A Game of Thrones!) or play a game (Dragon Quest IX!

Day 3 of reduced caffeine.
Ouch. I think I realised I had a problem after I took this photo at the university library the other week.
I was probably drinking an average of 1 to 2 cans of various energy drinks daily. (Rockstar Guava is the best energy drink ever. No debating.) It’s never caused me much problems until this week. It just continued the vicious cycle which crashed and burnt spectacularly this week. Withdrawal fucking sucks.
